SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2017: State Bank of India has released notification for recruitment of Probationary Officer on February 6, 2017. The Application Process for SBI PO 2017 has from February 7, 2017 and will continue till March 6, 2017. The recruitment notice has been released for 2403 vacancies. Candidates to be eligible for applying should fulfill the necessary eligibility criteria laid down for SBI PO 2017 recruitment. Candidates not fulfilling the given SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2017 will be rejected from the recruitment process. As per the eligibility criteria of SBI PO, candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognized university. SBI is one of the largest recruiters of the country brings out vacancies for the post of Probationary officers and Clerks every year. The examination has, over the years, become one of the most important examinations of the country which draws lakhs of candidates. The recruitment process has further been increased by dividing the examination into two stages namely Preliminary and Main examination. The candidates who pass the preliminary examination would be allowed to participate in the Main Examination.

Importance of the SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2017:

For that purpose, the Bank has set SBI PO eligibility Criteria and the candidates who fulfill these criterions would be able to fill the application form online and take the test. The eligibility criteria are thus one of the most important things to look out for before going on to fill the Application form. The candidates who would be found not following the eligibility criteria would not be allowed to take the examination and would be robbed off their candidature.

Details for the SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2017:


The candidates must be aged between 21 years to 30 years of age as on 01.04.2017 i.e candidates must have been born not earlier than 02.04.1987 and not later than 01.04.1996 (both days inclusive). However, there is also a provision of age relaxation as per the constitutional Affirmation policy which has been explained below.

The upper age of the candidates has been relaxed depending upon the category from which they come from. The year relaxed as per the SBI PO 2017 Eligibility criteria is as followed:
OBC Candidates – 03 years.
SC/ST Candidates, Ex-servicemen (includes Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers) who have given 5 years of military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) other than through dismissal on charge of misconduct/inefficiency/physical disability. Those who are domiciled in Kashmir division of the state of J&K between 1 January 1981 and 31 December 1990 – 05 years.
Persons With Disabilities (PWD):
1.PWD (SC/ST)-15 Years
2.PWD (OBC)- 13 Years
3. PWD (Gen)- 10 Years
2. Nationality:

The candidates who want to apply for the SBI PO 2017 must be an Indian Citizen. For the migrated candidates, refer to the detailed brochure of the examination.

3. Educational Qualification: (As on 01.07.2017)

According to the SBI PO 2017 Eligibility Criteria, the candidate must follow the following educational criteria:

The candidates must be a graduate in any discipline from a state or central recognized university or possess any other equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.
Aspirants who are appearing in the Final year/Semester of their Graduation will also be eligible to apply but solely on the provisional basis.
It is compulsory for such candidates to produce proof of having passed their graduation final examination as per the deadline to be stipulated by the bank.
Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 01.07.2017
Candidates possessing the qualification of Chartered Accountant may also apply.

The date of passing eligibility examination will be the date appearing on the marksheet or provisional certificate issued by the University / Institute. In case the result of a particular examination is posted on the website of the University / Institute, a certificate issued by the appropriate authority of the University / Institute indicating the date on which the result was posted on the website will be taken as the date of passing.
Candidate should indicate the percentage obtained in Graduation calculated to the nearest two decimals in the online application. Where CGPA/ OGPAis awarded, the same should be converted into the percentage and indicated in the online application. If called for interview, the candidate will have to produce a certificate issued by the appropriate authority inter alia stating that the norms of the University regarding conversion of grade into percentage and the percentage of marks scored by the candidate in terms of norms
Calculation of Percentage: The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours/optional/additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class/Grade is decided on the basis of Honours marks only. The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
SBI PO Eligibility Criteria 2017 – Number of Attempts

The number of attempts of SBI PO 2017 has been shown in the table below. Candidates who have already appeared for the maximum number of chances permissible are not eligible to apply. The number of chances will be counted from the examination held on 18.04.2010. Appearing in Preliminary Examination will not be counted as a chance.
